Role Purpose
The Volunteer Community Fundraiser will play a key role in helping to secure the financial sustainability
of Great Northern Mental Health Services. This role will focus on engaging the community, raising
awareness of fundraising campaigns, and encouraging individuals, groups and businesses to support the
service through donations and pledges.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting fundraising campaigns within local communities and networks
- Encouraging individuals and organisations to make donations or pledges
- Sharing fundraising links via social media, WhatsApp, email and face-to-face conversations
- Developing fundraising initiatives, events and activities
- Supporting community fundraising events and activities
- Speaking to community groups, faith groups and local organisations about Great Northern Mental Health Services
- Distributing fundraising materials (flyers, posters, QR codes)
- Supporting donor follow-up and thanking supporters
- Feeding back community insights and ideas to the team

Person Specification – Essential
- Enthusiasm for community engagement and making a difference
- Confidence speaking to people from different backgrounds
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and commitment
- Willingness to learn and follow guidance
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse communities
Person Specification – Desirable
- Previous fundraising, campaigning or sales experience
- Experience of community outreach or volunteering
- Confidence using social media and messaging platforms
- Knowledge of local communities and networks
- Interest in community development, culture or social justice
